Dear Diary,
Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s 2025 already. Time flies when you’re a wimpy kid like me.
I’m starting eighth grade this year, and I’m nervous. I’ve heard horror stories about how hard it is. But I’m trying to stay positive. I mean, how much worse can it be than middle school?

Diary,
I was wrong. Eighth grade is way worse than middle school. The classes are harder, the kids are bigger, and the teachers are meaner. I’m already failing math and science. And I’m pretty sure I’m going to get picked on by the football team.
To make matters worse, my parents have decided to send me to a new school. They say it’s a "better fit" for me. But I don’t want to leave my friends!

Diary,
I’ve been at my new school for a few weeks now, and it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. The kids are actually really nice, and I’m starting to make some friends.
But I still miss my old friends. I wish I could just go back to middle school.

Diary,
I’m finally starting to get the hang of eighth grade. I’m not failing any classes anymore, and I’m even making some friends on the football team.
But there’s still one problem: Patty Farrell. She’s the most popular girl in school, and she’s totally out of my league. But I can’t help but have a crush on her.

Diary,
I’m an idiot. I asked Patty Farrell out on a date, and she said no. She said I was "too wimpy."
I’m so embarrassed. I don’t think I’ll ever live this down.

Diary,
I’m starting to get over Patty Farrell. I’ve realized that there are other fish in the sea.
And besides, I’m a wimpy kid. I’m not meant to have a girlfriend.

School’s out for the summer! I’m so excited to relax and have some fun.
I’m planning on spending the summer playing video games, hanging out with my friends, and trying to forget about Patty Farrell.

Diary,
I’m having a great summer. I’ve been spending a lot of time with my friends, and I’ve even started dating a girl named Rachel.
She’s not as popular as Patty Farrell, but she’s really nice and funny. I think I might actually like her.

I’m not a wimpy kid anymore. I’m a survivor.

I’m still not the most popular kid in school, but I’m okay with that. I’m a wimpy kid, and I’m proud of it.
